Even before the launch of the highly anticipated NINJA GAIDEN 4, developers Team Ninja and PlatinumGames have officially announced the game’s first major post-launch content, titled ‘The Two Masters’ DLC.

The DLC was revealed in an interview with the Official Xbox Podcast, with the team confirming a wealth of new content that will expand the game’s story and challenge.

Release Window and Availability

  • Base Game Launch: NINJA GAIDEN 4 is set to release on October 21, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam/Microsoft Store).
  • DLC Release: The ‘The Two Masters’ DLC is scheduled to launch in Early 2026.
  • Availability: The DLC will be available for separate purchase, or it is included as part of the Deluxe Edition of NINJA GAIDEN 4.

Key Content and Features

The expansion is designed as an epilogue to the main campaign and will focus on the two main protagonists of NINJA GAIDEN 4: Ryu Hayabusa and the new character, Yakumo.

  • New Post-Game Story Content: The DLC features a brand-new storyline that takes place after the events of the base game. It will unfold from the perspectives of both Ryu and Yakumo, deepening their bond and exploring their respective roles as “masters.”
  • New Weapons for Both Masters: The DLC will introduce a unique weapon for each character, each with its own “distinct qualities and a plethora of mechanics” for players to master:
    • Ryu Hayabusa’s New Weapon: Described as dual, pincer-like gauntlets, which will offer powerful and high-speed abilities, emphasizing precision.
    • Yakumo’s New Weapon: A massive scythe, which is said to reflect his more expressive personality and unique approach to combat.
  • New Post-Game Challenges: In addition to the story, new post-game challenges will be introduced, separate from the base game’s Ninja Trials, offering a demanding test for veteran players seeking to push their skills to the absolute limit.

The developers have stated that the DLC is “a lot of content for players to dig into,” promising a significant mechanical and narrative expansion to the game’s brutal action.
